What is the project about?

What is the task?

Together with Jo Harrison, an amazing graphic designer, we've cooked up an explainer video about impact assessments in gender budgeting for the Scottish Women’s Budget Group.

Impact assessment is a term most people aren't familiar with, but one that deserves more understanding. To bring this to life for all stakeholders, we were asked to turn dense subject matter into clear, engaging visuals, making sure no one is invisible in plain sight.

How did I approach the project?

Since terms like “Gender Budgeting”, “Equality Impact Assessments” aren’t used daily, it’s crucial to visualise the jargon through everyday situations: baking bread, doing house chores. We ran with it as our main metaphor, and ended up baking something pretty nice.
