What is the project about?

What is the task?

A group of secondary students reimagined Hong Kong’s landscape during an M+ museum workshop using collage art. After the workshop, the museum wanted to showcase students’ work at the Hong Kong International Airport and other public spaces.

Collaborating with JiuJikPark, our goal was to connect these collages in one video and expand on the students' imagination.

How did I approach the project?

We aimed to create an immersive world that resonates with secondary school students' perspectives. Instead of editing the collages together into a slideshow, we developed a versatile character to explore the cityscapes, linking the collages. I was responsible for animating a couple of backgrounds that interact with the character, creating a uniquely Hong Kong scene. This approach allowed us to showcase the students' work within a dynamic, imaginative context that captures the essence of their creative vision.
