What is the project about?

What is the task?

Following the first explainer video we produced for Rainlily, a Hong Kong-based sexual violence crisis center, they wanted to create another explainer discussing the procedures a victim might go through if they decided not to go to court.

In the brief, RainLily emphasized that this video has to be empowering for those who, unfortunately, have encountered sexual violence. We wanted to video to be a safe space for victims who decided not to go to the police..

How did I approach the project?

Animator Samuel Lee and I decided to go for a similar approach to the last video. We wanted the video to be comforting, making sure the victim understands that no matter what decision they made, they are not to be blamed. In this video, we focused on the gender-neutral character’s inner emotional world, from heartbroken to finally being healed.
